Driving Directions to Roux's Market, Shirly, MA
Roux’s market is not located on Route 110.
It is in “lower Shirley” along the MBTA rail line.
There are 2 ways to get there:
1. Go up Route 70 out of Lancaster, cross over Route
2 passing the Scout store and Council on the left, continue straight until
the road ends at a “T” stop.
Take a right. Go about 2 miles, passing several of
Keating’s gravel plants on the way. Pass a very ornate “Presidential”
building (so named) on the left, and bear left down the small hill after
the Presidential building. At the bottom of the small dip bear right and
back up the small hill. You will pass, but not turn at, a green sign
showing Shirley Center to the left. Now you see Shirley village, ornate
street lamps, and the railroad on your left. Slow down, pass a convenience
store, and notice Roux’s market, a brown square building on the right.
Turn in to the lot, go to the back of the parking lot, and park towards
the left rear beside a windowless brown building, That’s where the boxes
of bottles will go. As mentioned, bags of cans and plastic bottles go
behind the main store.
2. Alternatively, go up to Ayer (on Route 111 north
), pass through downtown Ayer, DO NOT turn right at the big Mobil station
as Route 111 goes north, just stay straight, go under the railroad
overpass, go all the way through town, pass the old back gate (Verbeck?)
to Devens, and just follow that road and it will end up in Shirley
village, with Roux’s on your left.
With practice, you can actually take Route 2 west to
the old Ft. Devens north post exit (37B ??), go through Devens and get
yourself to the Shirley Road at the Ayer/Shirley line. It’s much easier to
learn the route coming home from Roux’s, and not try it GOING to Roux.
