Camp Wanocksett Checklist

The key to a fun week at camp is making sure you have the necessary gear for all occasions. The following checklist will help you prepare for your stay at Camp Wanocksett. A camp trunk, or large rectangular ski-equipment bag is an excellent container for everything.

 

Required Clothing

 

¨  Class A Scout uniform & accessories

 

¨  Underwear

¨  Socks

¨  T-Shirts

¨  Shorts

¨  Rugged pants

 

¨  Sneakers

¨  Sturdy shoes or boots

 

¨  Sweater and/or jacket

¨  Swim suit

¨  Poncho or rain gear

¨  Old Clothes and Shoes

 

Toilet Kit

 

¨  Toothbrush & Toothpaste

¨  Soap & container

¨  Shampoo

 

¨  Deodorant

¨  Comb, brush, mirror

 

¨  Bath towel & wash cloth

¨  Handkerchiefs and/or bandannas

 

Required Camp Gear

 

¨  Camp Folding Chair (required)

 

¨  Sleeping bag or warm blanket

¨  Mattress cover

¨  Ground cloth

¨  Sheet, pillow, pillowcase

 

¨  Watch

¨  Flashlight & 2 sets of batteries

¨  Compass

¨  Pocketknife

¨  Canteen or water bottle

¨  Twine or rope

¨  Beach towel

¨  Scout Handbook

 

¨  Four  40 inch long dowels - 1/2 inch diam. (supports mosquito netting) and small roll of duct tape for poles.

 

¨  Mosquito netting -  cover for bed (purchase at Outdoor Store in Maynard or Wanocksett Camp store)

Suggested Items

 

¨  Spending money ($20)

¨  Pen, pencil, paper & envelopes

¨  Anything needed for Merit Badge work

 

¨  Insect repellent (no aerosol cans)

¨  Sunscreen

 

¨  Camera & film

¨  Musical instrument

¨  Bible or prayer book

¨  Sewing kit

¨  Fishing pole & tackle

¨  Sunglasses

¨  Hat or visor

 

¨  Sports equipment

¨  Board or card games

¨  Combination lock (trunk or gear bag)

 

Do NOT Bring:


NO - Flammable liquids such as lighter fluid
NO - Matches and lighters (they will be provided when necessary by adults)
NO - More than 2 knives
NO - Knives with blades long than 4 inches
NO - Fireworks

NO - Electronic handheld games

NO - Boom boxes

NO - CD players

 

NO - Anything of value

 

And NO Booze - even if you are over 21.
