Welcome to Troop 1
Bolton, Massachusetts
* Nashua Valley
Council*

As I approve of a youth
that has something of the old man in him, so am I no less
pleased with an old man that has something of the youth. He
that follows this rule may be old in body, but he can never be
so in mind.

We will meet at the Church parking lot Saturday
Nov 3rd at 8AM. And return Sunday late morning.
Camp out is canceled due to severe weather.
PHILMONT 2008 -
We went to Philmont in
2005, and we are now scheduled to go back in
2008 - July 15th to July 29th.
The eligibility rules are the same a scout must
be 14 years of age by January 1, 2008 or have
completed the 8th grade (and be at least 13
years of age). Based upon my budget
for the Philmont 2007 crews. I am estimating the
total cost to be $1400.00. The troop
will need a commitment and a deposit of $175. by
April 15, 2007 made payable to Troop 1 Bolton.

Bolton's
Troop 1 was officially formed in 1920 receiving
its first charter. In 1925 Troop 1 became a
member of the Wachusett Council. The first
Scoutmaster was Edward C. Ware who served form
1920 to 1925. Troop 1 originally had 14
members and a three-person committee.
In
1978 the Troop disbanded and split apart till
1981. When it was reformed in March of
1981. Wesley Durant was appointed as scoutmaster
of Troop 1. Troop one has been a working
machine since 1981 under the instruction and
guidance of Mr. Durant. He is still the Scout
Master for Troop 1 today.
